The forgotton bible reading method

"The Forgotten Bible Reading Method" written by Wayne Davies is interesting reading.
It is especially good in promoting us to read repetitiously the Holy Scriptures. We learn by repetition in our minds, but by the Holy Spirit in our hearts (spirits). It i said that we we should read one book again and again until we master it. It would be better said we should read it until it masters us. The written word of God is alive and active in our lives because Jesus Christ is alive and active in our hearts, and HE is the word of GOD.

Love this approach

I read Wayne Davies' book in one sitting because it kept my interest. Anytime I can read about getting into God's word deeper and finding alternative ways to retain His word, I am an interested participant. Wayne's suggestion of reading the 66 books of the bible one book at a time is a unique approach that I have started to do. I have started reading the book of 1 John as he suggested. I have probably read it at least seven times. It is so interesting to read it over and over again and see something different or to have it all make sense by the Spirit providing understanding. Or if there still is not understanding I am digging deeper and researching other commentaries on the verse. I have been saved since 2007 only by finally reading the bible. God's word is powerful. I learned things I never knew because I had no one to tell me the truth. When I first read the bible I could not get enough of it and everyday I was anxious to learn more. But reading the way I was only created very little retention of the material. Wayne's technique of reading one book at a time until I feel I have it in my heart has given me a new excitement for reading the bible again. I look forward every day to have God teach me His word with more understanding. Thank you for a new approach. "I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review."

great teaching tool

As a teacher staying home with my toddler, I wanted materials for her that would be fun and educational without her catching on to the fact that she's learning something. This fits the bill...and each page has a little reminder to parents of what their expectations should be, so kids don't get frustrated. I suggest getting a few different books together and just doing a few out of each. Mix it up!

This must be the worst product Kumon sells.... I'm afraid to order any more of their products to find out. It's a tiny book, definitely not worth the $6 they ask for it. I have purchased better quality sticker books at the dollar store. Some pages have only one sticker, or cut out, for the page. All the stickers are located at the beginning of the book in the first 2 pages; for 8 pages of sticker pasting. The rest of the pages are for cut and paste. They expect you to cut out a portion of each page to paste on the rest of the page.... which I could understand IF cutting out the bottom portion of the page were what they want you to do.... but on some pages they expect you to cut out an odd shaped portion of the page... just look at the photos attached to see what I am talking about. It is a cheap quality book... the paper itself is great quality, but definitely not the setup. The pages are not perforated either... so you must rip them out. Definitely not worth $6.

Fun but parent needs to cut the pieces out

Sticker part is not that many pages. Most pages, a parent need to cut the pieces (small small pieces) which a toddler will paste with a glue. My so still enjoys it a lot especially using the glue but it's a bit tedious work to have to cut the pieces before he can paste them. Still bought other versions of the sticker and paste book because he loved it so much.

A well written story, not overly described scenery but very well described scenes and amazingly described characters.I really enjoyed this story, but it leaves a lot of questions. The reader is left in no doubt that this is the first in a series.

This book is what 50 Shades wants to be if it ever grows up. 2 stubborn people meet and the adventure begins! Pleasure, pain, joy, hope, and love... Things we all have, need, or want in our lives. I can't wait to read more from this author!

I loved this story

I loved this story! Xavier Brice has been tasked with taking Io away. Of course, Io believes that she is just being taken away to the next place where she will be abused. She speaks bluntly and harshly to protect herself. She has been abused all her life and she believes that no one wants her. Brice punishes her severely when she doesn’t do as she is told. But, she is trying to protect herself from being emotionally harmed. There are many instances of Brice and Io not understanding one another. Unfortunately, it seems Io gets punished every time. Eventually, Brice gets orders to marry Io. He doesn’t know why, but he has come to care for her. The punishments in this story are pretty severe. Io gets punished again and again until she obeys or at least appears to obey. I look forward to the next book in this series. I want to know more about Io’s background. I want to know what her heritage is. I want to know who has injured her and why. I have so many questions that I want answered. I give this book 5 stars!

I am a huge fan of Dr. Modi's books, and cannot wait for her next work to become available. If you do not have her first two books, get them today. Her revolutionary and groundbreaking books finally open wide the realms that we cannot see. I personally have prayed in pentacostal churches, American Indian teepee meetings, Buddhist temples, and Reclaiming circles, and within all of these places one will find the very Light that Dr. Modi speaks of in her books. She truly reaches in and opens the veil for all of us spiritual seekers. She holds onto no religious barriers, nor does she speak of an unattainable God. Instead she allows us to peek into a window to see who we really are, what muck we have gathered from this dirty, oily, Earthbound existence, then shows us a road map to enlightenment during our lifetime. Written in her unique easy to understand signature style, Dr. Modi has codified in one small comprehensive book everything a practitioner needs to transform, heal, and protect themselves and their clients. Modi’s techniques are graciously shared in a thoughtful, straightforward, all-inclusive and definitive format. She presents an effective template to easily access in depth, multi-dimensional realities, based on 25 years of patients descriptions. if you appreciate Dr. Modi's prior work this is another book to expand on her previous case work, albeit it does reference her previous book so much as to almost sound like an infomercial for her other books. Still I love her work and insights nonetheless.

Information is bang on!

The book is filled with great information and is a must have for expecting parents. I personally enjoyed the fact that the author provides examples throughout the book. Therefore, clarifying any questions I might of had. I'm an avid reader of personal finance books, mainly dividend growth investing, and was glad to see the books clear and concise writing. A lot of the time, terms are technical and specific to the industry, but this one on the other hand explains everything fairly clearly.

If you are planning on starting an RESP I suggest you read this book. Or at a minimum, read the author's website. It will ease any apprehension you may have about investing for your children's education.

PS... this book applies to Canadian residents!!

Top-notch resource!

Finally, this is one financial planning book with a great return on investment. We all know we need to save more to finance our kids' post secondary education. RESPs are a tricky little resource to understand, and it's worth spending the time to learn how they work. But not everyone gives a balanced perspective, and Holman does a great job. It's a quick read, and you can skip some of the chapters that don't apply to you. But worth the cost of admission; I bought the book last year, put the book aside and then this year read again the chapter on withdrawals -- and successfully got my first withdrawal this month.

This book is written in very clear and concise language easily understood by everyone from those who know very little about RESPs to those who have done their homework/research. I found it covered all the important RESP topics, used examples to enhance understanding and even provided some invaluable tips! The tips alone will save me 10 times the cost of the book never mind the peace of mind that comes from understanding this topic well and ensuring you take full advantage of the government grants available to your children. A very satisfying purchase with out a doubt!

About the Author
Robert L. Bob BugBob Allen is an entomologist, botanist, instructor and photographer. Raised in San Juan Capistrano, he studied insects from a very early age. He and Fred attended Marco Forster Junior High School in San Juan Capistrano but never met until they entered Dana Hills High School where borth learned native plants in natural history class. He attended Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, then California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1982, Cal Poly awarded him a bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Systematic Biology. In 2006, he received his Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies from California State University, Fullerton. At CSUF, he taught entomology and biological illustration. He teaches nature photography, entomology, botany and pollination classes in classroom and in the field. Bob is a Research Associate at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden and a Research Associate in Entomology at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. He is now working on a book about California s pollinating insects.

Fred M. Roberts, Jr. is a consulting botanist, artist, and author. He grew up in Dana Point, where thousands of acres of underdeveloped grasslands and hiking opportunities contributed to a strong interest in natural history. While attending Dana Hills High School he became interested in reptiles, amphibians, birds, and plants. At Saddleback College, botany became his primary interest and he put together his first checklist of Orange County plants, which he later published and is now in its third edition. In 1982, he received his Bachelor of Science in Geography with an emphasis on Botany from the University of California, San Barbara. From 1982 to 1991 he worked as an assistant curator in the Museum of Systematic Biology, University of California, Irvine. From 1991 to 1999 he worked as a botanist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service before starting his own botanical consulting business. Fred is a Research Associate at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. He is currently working on several projects including A Flora of Orange County, California.

Great resource for So Cal residents

I bought two copies of this, one for myself and one for my father who is a trained botanist. It has hundreds of beautiful full color illustrations and is very informative and easy to read. It compares well to any "Peterson's Guides" if you are familiar with those.

A Beautiful book for those of us who love real books

Despite the convenience of digital books and field guides, you will love this book. It is chock full of scholarly information and beautiful pictures but very user friendly. This is useful for a PhD or a weekend hiker who loves the outdoors.
It does have a limited geography being specific to the Santa Ana Mountains of Orange County California but the information is still applicable to Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and San Diego County.
It appears to be pricy but that was driven by the desire to make it a complete book with many excellent photos taken by Bob Allen and illustrations by co Author Fred Roberts Jr.
It is so much more than just a wildflower book because you get an education as your read about the plants. They include what they call "guilds" of organisms that are associated with the plant.
You will not be sorry if you buy this book

Where were all of the laughs?

I kept waiting to laugh out loud...a couple of chuckles and that was it. The story of Janice/Janis with a different spelling in each sentence; along with typos throughout the read were distracting.

Humorous and well written

It's hard to find good comedic memoirs... most just come off as if listening to someone rant their personal history stories for a few hours, and sound a lot like stories their friends told them were funny, but aren't really.

This was a gem by comparison - well written, funny, and easy to digest. I don't usually enjoy this genre, but found this to be quite good.

A perfect anecdote to the horror of actual internet dates

This book is like hanging out with your best friend as he mines all of the pain, awkwardness and embarrassment of internet dating for comic storytelling gold. Told with humility and intelligence, each of his chapters is painfully funny in it's sharp insights into the bizarre nature of the human species as we attempt to find love, happiness, or at least make it to second base. For better or worse, you will recognize yourself as Brian tries to navigate his own insecurities and put on his best game face while attempting to decipher what the hell could possibly be going on in the other person's head. If you want to check Brian out before you buy he writes for Thought Catalog [...] But trust me, you should just buy it, you won't regret it.
