About the Author
Jorge Bucay is a gestalt psychotherapist, psychodramatist, and writer. He was born in 1949 in Argentina. His books have sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, and have been translated into more than seventeen languages. Let Me Tell You a Story.

I found the book by chance at my cousin's house who had gotten it as a Christmas gift, and as it looked interesting so I started reading it. I found it very interesting and engaging, although, I must confess that at times I did not really understand the point of some of the stories. Since I was reading the Croatian translation, I ordered the book in English, and am planning on reading it again.
Overall, I would recommend the book to anyone who needs some guidance in their life. I think it can help with general questions of one's purpose and future direction in life.
What amazed me more was the approach of using stories from all different curltures and myths.

I read several of Bucay's books but in Spanish. I got this one as a present. Though it may be difficult to understand some of the stories, you will find yourself re reading them or understanding them in the future. It psychology explained through a series of stories.

love this book and all the stories within. inspiring and enlightening, the book is not filled with undigestible boring preachings, but rather simple, light-hearted stories that can be interpreted multiple ways from different angles. lost a star only coz it was received with dents to the top and bottom of the edges of the spine, and i am particular about my books, especially when i buy it new.

A kick in the pants for any wannabe traveler!

A quick read that packs a punch! This would be a great gift to give someone who's thinking about travelling for the first time. Duke details his journey from a life of listlessness to a life filled with purpose through travel. His personal anecdotes are compelling and inspirational. I've been reading Duke's blog for awhile now, and as always his writing is somehow both straightforward and poetic! A great ebook to share with friends and discuss with fellow travellers.

Short, sweet, inspirational

I've been reading Duke Stewart Writes for some time now, and the blog has become one of my favorites. Carl's writing is solid, and the insights inspire. Christina's pictures are stunning, and breathe even more life into the stories. But those aren't the biggest reason this blog has become one of my go-tos. It's because of the passion. When you read Duke Stewart Writes, you are invited into a heartfelt, introspective journey into Travel, both its highs and lows.

"Why I Travel" is just a taste; it's short, but it does what every good book should do: it transports you to a different place. Kernels of universal truths pop up throughout; the kind that make goosebumps trace your spine as you think, "Yeah, I've totally experienced that."

So maybe I'm biased. You would be too. If you've traveled, want to travel, or think you might do it at some point in your life (got ya on that last one, right?), then spend the dollar, invest the time, and savor the peek into what it is to give oneself over to stepping outside of one's comfort zone. Loud and quiet Louds, just as thoughtful as the Quiet Book

Ok, as I did when reviewing The Quiet Book, I'm going to declare my interest straight away and say I'm Deborah Underwood's brother-in-law. That does mean though I'm not writing a review straight after getting it, I've been hearing about the LOUD Book for a while now. For which much credit goes to the editor, Kate O'Sullivan, who backed her judgement and commissioned the LOUD Book before the Quiet Book was even published. So don't worry, this is no quickie sequel to cash in on The Quiet Book's hit status: this is - as the cover says - a real companion to the first book.

Just like the Quiet Book, this book covers all sorts of LOUDs. Some are just LOUD, like FIREWORKS LOUD. But many are just as contemplative and thought provoking - and even quiet - as the quiets in the earlier book. "Candywrapper LOUD" in the cinema, for example.

Talking of Fireworks, I think Renata Liwska's illustration for FIREWORKS LOUD must be my favourite across either book - the awe of the animals looking up, what a brilliant composition. Fabulous work. You can see it in the picture roll on amazon's page for The Loud Book.

All in all, a great book and a worthy companion to The Quiet Book for both text and illustrations.

”From its beginnings, psychoanalysis has been interested in the relationship between the mind and the body. However, Freud's attention to pathology focused on psychopathology, with little interest in somatic disorders. Others ― particularly Alexander ― have attempted to develop theories of psychosomatics, but it was particularly the Paris school, and Pierre Marty, who developed a truly psychoanalytic theory of psychosomatics. This volume provides an important introduction, summary and critique of that work, and also offers perspectives on it from around the world. Beginning with a paper by André Green that was originally written as his contribution to a debate with Pierre Marty that never occurred due to the latter's death, it continues with five papers from Paris and five from England, Latin America and North America. They provide theory, clinical reports and contrasting approaches. In addition there is a treatment of the rapidly emerging knowledge of tribological phenomena in lightly-loaded vanishing conjunctions (nanotribology) in natural systems and very small devices such as MEMS and high density data storage media.
